| Sotomayor? More like... I got nothin'. |
[Jul. 15th, 2009|09:45 am] |
I was listening to the Sotomayor hearings this morning when I heard something that just floored me. I had to get independent confirmation that I wasn't just hearing things. Well, here it is:
Under New York law, she said, it is permissible to use force to repel the threat of imminent death or very serious injury. Yet, she said, "If I go home, get a gun, come back and shoot you, that may not be legal under New York law because you could have alternative ways to defend. ..."
With laughter filling the room, Coburn interjected, "You'll have lots of 'splainin' to do.'" Ladies and gentlemen, I give you the post-racial world. Heaven help us.

I have just been given the Cease-and-Desist order from the wife of the guy I wanted to collaborate on the graphic novel with. So, basically, comics out, radio drama in. This also means that the weeks of contemplation about character development and such is out the window because the comic really needed to be in a visual medium.
I will probably dig up my old storyline concepts for Tales of Marketing and Science (or TOMAS for short) and see about writing up 4 25-page scripts. The cool thing about this is that I can actually get some of my buddies with the acting/foley bug to produce these as separate projects for the net. More importantly, I don't need to rely on one other person to get it done.
And, if I can make it through Script Frenzy this year, there's no reason I couldn't do this again with a graphic novel script next year... |

Does anyone have or know anyone who has an iPod they want to part with? Specifically, I need either an iPod (4G, 5G, or 6G), iPod Nano (2G or 3G) or an iPod classic. |

So, apparently since I haven't had a cold in quite a while, my body felt it needed play this one to the nines. The doctor says that I have bronchitis that is borderline pneumonia, so that would explain the constant coughing. My uncle, also a doctor, feels that my doctor is a quack and that I need steroids, not prescription cough medicine and antibiotics. As a compromise, we'll see how I'm feeling tomorrow.
Now, being me, I just want to get back to the horrible job that I'm being warned my department may be amputated from come the new year, but I am listening to cooler heads. I personally feel that staying home is not going to do any good considering I've been going to work with this cough for about a week or two, but I won't complain about being ordered not to drive to El Segundo during the one bit of rain we get each year. |

So... um... apparently Yahoo's new banner ad campaign features Gogol Bordello's "Start Wearing Purple".
I...
Hmm. Okay. Post the image, then see if words come.

Mmm... nope. |
